Elementary animation
Elementary animation , according to me
.. it's the most important part of the semester uptill now it's all about animation animation and animation .
First assignment was to animate a coin in one direction only that to straight from slow start to speed up by doing the timing and the spacing of the frames . I don't know why ? Maybe it was our first proper animation project .. it was not happening with that ez . It was really tough and we were using arithmetic progression and even logs to divide the path of the coin . At the end , I figured out that it's not about how technically to crack it , it's about how appealing and convincing it is and for that you need to understand and observe things.
After coins we went a step further and started claymation . For me claymation was not something new , I used to animate my transformers and make small video clips with claymation from the time when I was in 8th grade . It helped me a lot in this particular part of course . Atleast I had very few redos . One of the toughest assignment which I felt was the egg breaking one . I m pure veg guy and I didn't even know how the heck is an egg from inside . But that was not a big deal ... I have Google ! Thing which bothered me was the liquid part of the egg and how to animate it in side view . It was not up to the mark but submittable .
Then we came to the most awaited segment of the course and that was hand drawn animation . For the coin animation , there is no worry about maintaining the volume and the shape , for clay , shape is to be maintained but for hand drawn animations every thing has to be maintained .
The fundamental principle of animation which is straight ahead and pose to pose was the most effective useful and important principal of this animation .
